Rook is energy personified! His motto – why walk when you can leap, bound and run! He is very affectionate, and has matured into a sweet handsome boy.

In keeping with Maryann Czwerwinski’s long established practice of picking Broadway show names for her dogs, Rook has been named after the musical Chess. After many days of picking and discarding names with the right theme for the new pup I had just about thrown in the towel. Then one morning the clock radio woke me to the sounds of “One Night In Bangkok” by Murray Head from the musical Chess, a song I have always loved. Never one to ignore a sign, I decided that Chess was a great registered name. The call name Rook quickly followed suit.

Maryann Czerwinski and Pierry McLean, Castlegar Labradors (aka Scoundrel’s mom) have graciously agreed to co-own Rook
